SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ultimate goal for this position is to provide “Accounting and Tax Department Support” in the areas listed below:     

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS (each duty and function listed indicates % of time):

  • Primary Duties
    • Prepare and pay Personal Property Returns for all branches and Companies.   30.00%
    • Review and Analyze FA listing and reported values to prepare returns and monitor branches closures 3.00%
    • Prepare Puerto Rico 1099’s and coordinate exempt certificates with Agile and AP, as well as printing, mailing and online transmittal to Puerto Rico DOR.   4.00%
    • Prepare special reports for HR to find discrepancies between PlanSource and ERP for EE’s benefit insurances. 3.61%
  • Cross-Functional Duties
    • Prepare and file Employer’s Quarterly Federal Payroll Tax Returns, State Payroll Tax Returns, SUI Contribution Reports, Multiple Worksite Reports for multiple states nationwide for assigned Companies.15.38%
    • Prepare and file over 375 City Business License Tax Returns for multiple cities within all States, for all our companies and their affiliates and special nursing licenses.  9.23%
    • Prepare Temp & Staff weekly, monthly and quarterly Tax Deposits.   9.23%
    • Assist in resolving outstanding issues / discrepancies related to Property Taxes and SUI Returns.3.39%
  • Support Duties
    • Analyze and reconcile assigned GL Accounts (Monthly & Quarterly). 7.00%
    • Other duties and special project assign by Tax Manager, VP of Finance and CFO. 3.00%
    • Research new rules and regulations, Tax Formulas, Rates, 1099s and ICR reporting to update ERP at YE. 7.33%
    • Misc. Admin Tasks, meetings, scanning, copying, responding to emails, calling states, and sorting mail. 4.83%

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accounting Bachelor’s Degree
  • Multi-State Personal Property Tax and Payroll Tax Experience
  • 1099 Experience
  • GL reconciliation and large volume data
  • Strong analytical and organization skills
  • Must be detail oriented and multi-task orientated
  • Excellent communication and follow-up competence
  • Work well under pressure and team player
  • Strong level Excel, VLOOKUP, Pivot tables and Word skills
  • Ten key by touch

Accrual increases with tenure at certain anniversary dates. The Company offers 11 paid holidays. The Company also offers a 401k program with an employer match, with employee contributions beginning the month following enrollment.
